Most homeowners in Chesapeake don't think about their electrical panel until something goes wrong. And honestly, that makes sense — it's a grey metal box in your garage or utility room that you probably walk past every day without a second thought.

What even is an electrical panel?
Your electrical panel — sometimes called a breaker box or fuse box — is what controls and distributes electricity throughout your home. Every time you flip a light switch or plug something in, power flows from that box to where you need it.
Each circuit in your home has its own breaker inside the panel. When something goes wrong — like too much power flowing through one circuit — the breaker trips and cuts the power to protect your home. That's a good thing. It's doing its job.

Signs your panel might need to be replaced
1. Your breakers keep tripping

6. Your panel is more than 25–30 years old
