Bix Electrical is a family-owned and operated electrical contractor proudly serving Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Suffolk, Norfolk, Portsmouth and the surrounding Hampton Roads area.

Founded by Matt and Laura Bickley, our company was built on a commitment to quality workmanship, honest service, and treating every customer like family. We understand how important it is to find a trustworthy electrician, and we strive to provide the kind of service we would want in our own home.

Meet Matt & Laura

Matt and Laura are lifelong Chesapeake residents and proud parents of two young adult children. Throughout their lives, they have been deeply involved in their family, church, and local community.

Matt spent more than 20 years working as a civilian electrician for the United States Navy. During his career, he advanced through numerous positions, including Apprentice, Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, Supervisor, Manager, and Engineering Technician. His extensive experience provided him with the technical knowledge, leadership skills, and commitment to excellence that continue to guide Bix Electrical today.

Laura dedicated many years to raising and homeschooling their children, helping shape them into the successful young adults they are today. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she coached volleyball, volunteered through her church, and worked alongside Matt on countless home improvement projects. Whether helping with automotive repairs, landscaping, renovations, or business operations, Laura has always been an essential part of every endeavor.

How Bix Electrical Began

In June 2021, Matt and Laura decided to begin a new adventure together.

After years of seeing how difficult it could be for homeowners and business owners to find dependable, qualified electricians, they recognized an opportunity to serve their community in a meaningful way. Combining Matt's extensive electrical expertise with Laura's organizational skills and dedication to customer care, Bix Electrical was born.

Their mission was simple:

Provide honest, reliable electrical services with the same level of care and attention they would give their own home.
